This year, 150 years ago, Werner von Siemens completed our company’s first project in South Africa. The installation of the country’s first telegraph line linking Cape Town and Simon’s Town in 1860 marked the beginning of a history of innovation and business activities in South Africa that mirror the county’s development on a scale almost unprecedented by any other company.
His vision and innovative ideas laid the foundation for our company and his pioneering spirit lives on in all Siemens employees today.
