Brehnor Pumps has replaced one of the Magalies Water project’s 400NB 4 Blade 1 Stage axial flow pumps - for the supply of water in the Cullinan area. Greg Peake, Managing Director of Brehnor Pumps, added that Brehnor will be refurbishing two more horizontal axial flow pumps for the project.

 

These pumps were originally installed in 1995 and have been operating since then. This is testament to the success of the design of these axial flow pumps as well as the importance of selecting the correct pump to get the job done.

 

Magalies Water was originally established by Government Notice 234 of 1969 to mainly supply the needs of platinum mines in the Rustenburg and Thabazimbi areas. Over time, the capacity was extended to progressively cater for the needs of other consumers such as Sun City, other mines, industries and various communities.

 

In 1996, Magalies Water became involved in retail water-supply services when it was requested to operate, maintain and supply the retail services in the Mankwe, Moretele and Odi areas. In 1999, after negotiations with Rand Water, the company expanded to meet the demand of the rapidly increasing water needs of the Rustenburg region. Today, Magalies Water also operates and maintains potable- and waste-water plants on behalf of the City of Tshwane and the Rustenburg Municipality.
