The first milestone in the history of the South African Oil Industry was in 1884, when the first oil company was started in Cape Town. This company was for the import of refined products, since then the industry has developed and matured.  Currently approximately 20 million tonnes per annum of crude are processed and 23 Million tonnes of liquid fuel products are used, 45% being Gasoline and 26% being Diesel.

For a company that is constantly looking at stretching its boundaries, in every way, the question of looking to enter South Africa is just a matter of the right time and circumstances. The Energy and Petrochemical Division of the VRV Group, a multinational industrial company headquartered in Italy is in South Africa partnering with Energas to provide pressure containing equipment to the energy and petrochemical industries. Energas is a leading supplier of High End and Specialized Equipment to the Oil and Gas industries in Southern Africa since 2001.

 

The Energy and Petrochemical Division of the VRV Group  designs and manufactures medium and high-pressure equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, columns and special vessels and .The VRV  Group provides highly technological customized and tailor made equipment to their clientele like Foster Wheeler and Technip  across the world which are used by global majors like Shell. They have been qualified by the main Engineering Companies throughout the world and are approved by most major process licensors. The Company operates under a Quality Management System approved and certified by LRQA according to ISO 9001:2000 and is qualified and certified by ASME VIII, Div 1 and Div 2.
