New Compact Coriolis Flow Meter Delivers High Accuracy Flow Measurement In Tight Places

Ideal for Chemical, Food & Beverage, Oil/Gas, Pharmaceutical

With an innovative precision Coriolis flow sensor, the new Model CMB Coriolis Flow Meter from Fluid Components International delivers highly accurate flow measurement in a rugged, yet compact-size unit for liquid or gas service. The CMB is an economical solution to industrial applications that require the best possible accuracy in crowded equipment layouts or facilities.

The CMB’s innovative “U” tube Coriolis flow sensor design features lightweight 316L stainless steel tubes with minimal welding and exclusive vibration dampening technology. This design achieves higher long-term mechanical reliability and lower installation costs when compared to the typical heavy die-cast flow tube elements found in ordinary Coriolis devices. The result is superior performance, low maintenance, long-life and value in a compact instrument with a footprint as small as 11.8 in. (300mm) wide -x- 15 in. (380mm) high -x- 4 in. (105mm) deep.

The Model CMB Flow Meter offers +0.15% accuracy at flow rates up to 2205 lb/min (60000 kg/hr) in line sizes up to 3 inches (76mm). The CMB’s flow sensor operates over a wide temperature range from -40 to +356?F (-40 to +180?C). It withstands pressures up to 580 psi [40 Bar (g)], and the sensor is protected by a lightweight die-cast housing for long-life in demanding industrial processes and plants.

The versatile CMB is available in eight line sizes from 1/8 to 3 inches (3 to 76mm) for processes in wide range of industries, including chemical, food/beverage, oil/gas pharmaceutical and more. Typical applications include liquid or gas flow in analyzing, blending, custody transfer, distilling, formulating, mixing and testing--anywhere the precision measurement of flow rate and control of material is critically important to delivering a high quality product.

The Model CT Transmitter is a full-featured device designed for the CMB and all FCI CM series Coriolis sensors. Available as a blind transmitter or with an integral two-line LCD digital display, the transmitter is the electronics interface to the sensor and an array of analog and/or digital outputs. Standard outputs include dual 4-20mA, one standard with HART?, a frequency/pulse output of total flow, and a binary output of instrument status. Output options include Profibus-PA and a tamper-proof, custody transfer configuration that is sealed/certified, and prevents resetting of the internal totalizer. The CT can be mounted integral with the sensor or remote mounted up to 1000 feet (300 m) away.

In addition to the CMB Flow Meter, FCI also offers two other highly advanced Coriolis flow meters—the models CMU and CMM. The CMU is designed for line sizes from 0.25 to 12 inches (6 to 305mm) and measures flow rates from 2.2 to 80,800 lb/hr (60 to 2,200,00 kg/hr). It combines large line size service, high flow rate capability and outstanding measurement accuracy--all in a standard product available off-the-shelf without the customization and long-lead times typically required.

FCI’s Model CMM flow meter features the industry’s widest standard configuration selection of the industry’s most popular and exotic wetted surface materials for service in harsh fluids—from water to acids, to corrosives, and even hazardous safety sensitive fluids such as phosgene. Designed for service in line sizes from 1/8 to 2 inches (6 to 50mm), it measures flow rates up to 1460 lb/min (40,000 kg/hr) and is accurate to 0.1 percent in liquids and to 0.5 percent in gases (+ reading).

Fluid Components International is a global company committed to meeting the needs of its customers through innovative solutions to the most challenging requirements for sensing, measuring and controlling the flow and level of air, gases and liquids.
