New IWC Towers For Tongaat Hullet Starch Germiston

Tongaat Hulett Starch The Germiston starch mill provided a unique set of challenges for IWC, namely to design a larger cooling tower to replace the existing dilapidated EVAPCO towers & fit the new larger tower into the same area on the factory roof as was originally occupied by the existing tower. A bespoke cooling tower was built for the duty. Two units were designed to be assembled at ground level, then lifted into position on the 30m high roof for installation on stainless steel basin. The new IWC cooling tower was commissioned 8 days from shut-down of the old cooling towers.
