Float Valves

A float valve, also known as a ballcock, is a mechanical device used to monitor the amount of water in a tank. The float is attached to a lever arm that is in turn attached to a valve that controls the flow of water into the tank. When the water in the tank reaches a certain level, the float moves the arm such that it closes the input valve. Float valves are most commonly used in flush toilets.
