Heat Exchangers : Marine Heat Exchanger
A heat exchanger is any type of device used to transfer heat from between mediums. Marine heat exchangers are specifically designed to help remove heat from marine engines during operation. Water is pumped from the water in which the boat is operating, requiring an inlet to be below the waterline at all times. The water is circulated through the heat exchanger, helping to dissipate heat from the coolant mix circulating from the marine enginer through the tubes of the heat exchanger. When marine are used in salt water, a sacrificial zinc anode must be placed on the heat exchanger to absorb the effects of corrosion due to the salt water.
